How we got these numbers
We default to the conservative end of available research. Here's where each assumption comes from.
27–40% miss rate
WhatConverts found 27% of HVAC contractor calls go unanswered. Dexcomm puts it closer to 74%. We use the low end. Most operators are surprised even that applies to their shop.
80% don't call back
SkipCalls and RingEden both tracked this: 80–85% of callers who reach voicemail don't try again. They move on to whoever picks up.
20% booking rate
About 20% of connected HVAC calls result in a booking on the first call. That accounts for shoppers, out-of-area calls, and people who need to check with a spouse before committing. It's a conservative number.
15–20% text-back recovery
When a missed caller gets a text within 30 seconds, a meaningful number come back and book. We use 17.5%, the midpoint of observed response rates. That's the window before they've had time to call the next shop on the list.
